Kjepphesten is an independent magazine that creates a platform for emerging
writers and illustrators in Scandinavia.
Lian Maij co-founded the project and
worked as its graphic designer, creating a recognizable visual identity that reflects
the zeitgeist of today's youth, while
mirroring a professionalism that gives
every contribution the visual language it
deserves.
After working on three publications she left the project in
2026
to focus on other projects.
The magazine can be bought in several independent bookstores in Oslo and Bergen. In 2025, Kjepphesten was reviewed in the Norwegian magazine BLA. Kjepphesten
also took part in the Copenhagen Zine Fair.
